On December 5, 2024, the EPHYRA project contributed to scientific progress at the 10th International Scientific-Business Conference LIMEN, held at Technische Universität Wien in Vienna, Austria.
Representing ENVIRONMETRICS, EPHYRA consortium partner, Dr.Chara Karakosta presented a co-authored research paper titled: “Navigating the Hydrogen Transition in Petroleum Refining: A Comprehensive Market Assessment”.
Co-authors Myrto Xynogala, Giuseppe Minafra and Luca Bardoscia from RINA Consulting S.p.a, Stella Giannisi and Georgios Mitkidis from Motor Oil Hellas contributed to the study. The paper explores the pivotal role of green hydrogen in decarbonizing petroleum refining, analyzing production trends, market segmentation, and the integration potential of renewable-based electrolysis in industrial processes.
The presentation marked EPHYRA’s commitment to advancing hydrogen knowledge and showcasing real-world insights from on-going implementation at one of Europe’s most advanced industrial complexes.
